The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has urged the striking lecturers of the state-owned tertiary institutions in the state to call off their strike with a promise to pay all their salary arrears by the end of July.
Bello also ordered all those employed in 2015 by the institutions to resume work provided their heads of departments could confirm them as bona fide workers.
The governor, who said this while speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting at the university in Anyingba, added that he was touched when the students knelt down to beg for the reopening of the institution.
