Lagos tackles FG over houses, N28.5m seized from director

The Lagos State Government has urged the Federal High Court in Lagos to order the final forfeiture of a sum of N28.5m and houses recovered from the Director of Accounts, Lagos State Public Works Corporation, Anifowoshe Alade, to the state rather than to the Federal Government.

The Director of Civil Litigation in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Saheed Quadri, appeared on Tuesday before Justice Rilwan Aikawa, who is presiding over the case, to make the plea.

Quadri said since the money sought to be forfeited was allegedly stolen from the coffers of the Lagos State Government, it should be forfeited to Lagos State and not the Federal Government.
