ICPC freezes accounts of family owing Afe Babalola $10m

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission says it has frozen the bank accounts of some members of High Chief Gbadamosi Eletu family and two lawyers for refusing to pay renowned lawyer, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), $10m owed him in legal fees.

Babalola, had last year, written a petition against the Eletu family for allegedly defrauding his law firm of $10m in professional fees.

He explained that the Eletu family approached his law firm in 2005 asking him to appeal against the decision of a Court of Appeal involving 254 hectares of land in the Osapa end of Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
