Abuja court transfers ex-gov Aliyu, aide’s trial to Minna

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, transferred the criminal trial of a former governor of Niger State, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, to the Minna Division of the court.

The judge ordered that the case file be returned to the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Abdu Kafarati, for re-assignment to the Minna Division of the court in Niger State.

He made the order following an application by Aliyu’s co-defendant, Mr. Umar Nasko, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 poll in the state.

Nasko is also a former Commissioner for Environment, Parks, Gardens and Forest Resources in Niger State.
