A judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice Gabriel Kolawole, on Thursday, asked the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, to warn the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, against non-compliance with court orders.
The judge said the police, as an institution established by law, must obey the law in accordance with the rule of law.
He gave the warning following the failure of the police to appear in court in a case of enforcement of fundamental human rights filed by the Incorporated Trustees of the Peace Corps of Nigeria and its National Commandant, Dickson Akoh.
